Prayer for Children

Lord God,

I place my children before You.

You know each one by name.

Every step. Every dream.

Guard their paths. Protect their choices.

Deliver them from all evil.

When I cannot be near,

may You be there.

When I don't know what to do,

may You be the direction.

Calm their hearts.

Strengthen their minds.

Cover their lives with Your peace.

May they grow in wisdom.

With love.

With fear of the Lord.

I entrust my children into Your hands.

And I rest in Your care.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

(Proverbs 22:6)

Lord God,

I place my child before You.

My heart aches.

The distance weighs heavily.

And the longing hurts.

There are paths I don't understand.

There are choices that worry me.

But nothing escapes Your gaze.

Where I cannot reach,

You reach.

Where my words cannot reach,

may Your voice reach.

Guard their steps.

Protect their life.

Deliver them from all evil.

Bring back peace.

Bring back the path.

Bring back the heart.

Teach me to trust.

To wait.

To rest in You.

I place my child in Your hands.

And I believe in Your care.

Prayer for Wayward Children

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and he will make straight your paths.”

Proverbs 3:5–6

Lord God,

I place my child before You.

I am so tired and weak.

My daily tears have overflowed my heart.

The path he/she has chosen is dangerous.

The wrong choices distance him/her from You and from us.

His/her heart and life are at risk.

I know that alone he/she cannot return.

But I know that nothing is impossible for You.

Touch his/her life, Lord.

Free him/her from dependence.

Heal his/her emotional and spiritual wounds.

Renew his/her mind. Restore his/her body.

And open his/her eyes to the path of life.

May he/she find the strength to change.

May he/she feel Your presence even in difficult days.

May hope be reborn in his/her heart.

Lord, I trust that Your hand can transform lives.

And I place my child in Your hands,

entrusting them with all care and protection.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
